Mask Setup & Troubleshooting Guide

STANDARD MASK GUIDE

What’s in Your Standard Mask Kit:

  • Silicone Mask Body
  • Neoprene Headgear
  • Inflation Syringe
  • Blue Valve Ring

Inflate the Mask & Proper Face Placement

How to Inflate the Cushion & Fit the Mask:

  1. 1. Use the syringe to draw in air.
  2. 2. Insert it into the small port on top of the mask.
  3. 3. Inflate until the cushion is about ⅔ full — it should feel soft but create a gentle seal.
  4. 4. If the mask feels too tight or bulging, remove some air with the syringe.
  5. 5. Center the mask over your face — it should cover your nose and mouth without blocking your vision.
  6. 6. If the mask sits too high, it may restrict nasal breathing.
  7. 7. If it sits too low, you may feel air leaking.
  8. 8. Adjust until it feels snug, balanced, and sealed with no pressure points.

Diagnosing and Fixing Valve Issues

How to Check the Internal Valves:

  1. 1. Look inside the mask and find the two teal-colored septum valves.
  2. 2. They should lie flat and move gently as you breathe in and out.
  3. 3. If airflow feels blocked, inspect for any folding or misalignment.
  4. 4. Re-seat them if needed and confirm smooth airflow.

Strap Fitting & Common Slip Fixes

How to Fit and Secure the Headgear:

  1. 1. Slide the neoprene strap system over the mask body.
  2. 2. Align the holes with the ports and anchor points.
  3. 3. Position the rear strap low on the back of your head — near the base of your skull.
  4. 4. Adjust the strap tension until the mask stays in place comfortably during movement.
  5. 5. If the mask slips during training, check for hair or sweat under the strap and adjust as needed.

Mask Seal Check – Suction Test

How to Perform the Suction Test:

  1. 1. Cover the inlet port on the mask with your hand.
  2. 2. Inhale gently.
  3. 3. You should feel the mask pull inward slightly against your face.
  4. 4. When you remove your hand at peak inhale, you should hear a light “whoosh” of air.
    • This confirms that the mask is forming a good seal.

PREMIUM MASK GUIDE

What’s in Your Premium Mask Kit

  • Pre-formed Premium Mask (XS, S, M, L)
  • Adjustable Head Strap
  • Breather Valve Assembly

Premium Mask Overview & Fit Principles

Understanding Your Premium Mask:

  • This mask does not require inflation.
  • It comes in different sizes and must match your face for a proper seal.
  • If the fit is too small, you may feel pinching.
  • If the fit is too large, it may leak air around the edges.
  • A good fit feels snug and sealed without being tight.

How to Measure for the Premium Mask

How to Choose the Right Size for Yourself:

  1. 1. Print out the Premium Mask Sizing Chart (PDF).
  2. 2. Alternatively, use a tape or ruler to measure from the top of the bridge of your nose to the bottom of your chin.
  3. 3. Try the recommended size.

Strap Adjustment & Stability

How to Adjust the Head Strap:

  1. 1. Place the rear strap low on the back of your head.
  2. 2. Adjust the top and side straps until the mask feels secure but not overly tight.
  3. 3. Move your head — nod and turn — to ensure it stays in place.
  4. 4. If the mask shifts, readjust the straps for better tension or placement.

Suction Test for Seal

How to Test Your Seal:

  1. 1. Cover the inlet port on your mask.
  2. 2. Inhale gently.
  3. 3. You should feel the mask suction slightly against your face.
  4. 3. When you release your hand, a “whoosh” confirms the seal is airtight.
